Please read before applying…..

The Western Australian Circus Festival is a 3 day festival of circus, comedy and cabaret held in January in Karridale, near Margaret River.  Before the festival we conduct three weeks of classes – two weeks of summer school predominantly for children and one week of festival training for children and adults with a particular focus on emerging artists.

The tutors for the classes become performers during the festival.  We employ some tutors for the full three week program and others just for the festival training week and festival.During the training weeks tutors will be teaching for 3 hours per day and the performing their shows/acts during the 3 day festival.

Everyone lives together onsite – tutors/performers, crew, volunteers and class participants.  Accommodation for tutors/performers is supplied in the form of tents equipped with mattresses and bedding.  Three healthy and delicious meals are provided each day.

A good time is always guaranteed in the fully licenced Dr Reg Bolton bar with great entertainment including a kids cabaret on Tuesdays and Thursday nights during the summer school and an adults cabaret every night during the training week prior to the festival.  Alcohol and drinks are not paid for by Lunar Circus though a discounted price is offered to performers.

The Western Australian Circus Festival is not a big budget festival so therefore please do not expect to receive your full show fee. Please state your required fee with this in mind. It is however a fantastic experience for everyone involved and every year our performers relish the opportunity to meet and learn from other performers within the industry.

We are also well timed for performers wanting to continue on to FringeWorld in Perth and the Adelaide Fringe Festival. We work closely with these festivals so please Email us if you need any further help with these applications.

During the festival training week the ratio of tutors to participants is 1:2, allowing the tutors to participate in the classes and enjoy the training experience.

Before submitting your application, please ensure that you will be available for the entire festival.  We normally contract for two shows during the 3 day festival some time between noon Saturday and midnight Monday.

We can confirm some acts before the final deadline but in general please expect confirmation of success of your application by 30th Sept 2017.

Please note that you MUST submit supporting material with your application, including a video link where we can view your act, at least two high-res images (1MB) and a show/performer blurb.  If you have specific tech requirements, please also submit those.
