Avan Whaite

Avan is interested in inter-disciplinary performance, and the creation of physical narrative by combining a diverse range of dance and circus techniques.  His work is typified by choreographic originality, and walks a line between moments of unbelievable strength or agility, and those of great delicacy. His particular excellence is for Chinese pole or mat chinois.

Premiering solo Chinese pole work in Australia, Avan Whaite went on to perform across Australia, and internationally, in countries including; Singapore, Malaysia, china, Taiwan, Mexico, Russia, Ireland, Germany, Holland, and Qatar.
